Official LNAT Practice Resources
The LNAT provides an official preparation guide which is quite limited, but introduces the question types and the testing methodology effectively. You can read this guide here:
The LNAT organiser, Pearson VUE, also provides two full-length sample tests and a demo of the computer-based testing portal that you can expect on test day here.
LNAT Preparation Tips:
While the LNAT does not test knowledge of specific facts, figures and events, preparation can be done by working on thinking and analysis skills for the MCQs and analytical and argumentative writing skills for the essay writing component.
To develop thinking skills, the most effective introductory book is Thinking Skills by Butterworth and Thwaites (Amazon link)
For developing awareness of contemporary issues, and how to present them in an argumentative essay, it is recommended to read a quality newspaper or periodical. We strongly recommend reading articles from the following newspapers on a daily basis (subscriptions may be required):
- The Economist
- The Financial Times
- The Guardian
- The New York Times
- The New Yorker
Recommended Books for the LNAT:
Master the LNAT by Ailsa Inglis
The Complete LNAT Guide by Leslie Ho and Kian Yang Ng
