Setting Up Your CommonApp Account

Please follow the steps given in this page to set up your CommonApp account.
Before you apply:
- Make sure to use an email address that you are comfortable checking regularly and using as your correspondence address with colleges, admissions officers and visa authorities.
- Please make sure to use a device and password that is not shared with your friends or classmates.
- Check with your school career counselling cell if they are using any college application management systems like CIALFO or MaiaLearning.
IMPORTANT:
If your school uses systems like CIALFO, Naviance or MaiaLearning, please make sure to check which email addresses you need to use for your application and get an onboarding guide or orientation from your school. These software systems need to be linked to your CommonApp as your school will upload recommendations to them directly.
Creating your Account:
- VisitHow to apply to college with Common App | Common App and create your account.
- Select First Year Student when prompted
- Fill in your information on the next page:
4. After this step, you'll be directed to your dashboard. Your CommonApp ID number will be visible in the top-right corner. Please note this number down as you will need it when corresponding with colleges after you submit your application:
Fill in Basic Information:
1. Go to the Common App tab
2. Fill in the Profile, Family and Education sections. You need to do this before your recommendations and transcripts can be uploaded by your counsellor.
